REBNY Members Participate in the NYC Homecoming Week Celebration

NYC Homecoming Week 2021

The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), the City’s leading real estate trade association, showcased its members that illuminated iconic buildings throughout New York City in participation with NYC Homecoming Week, which took place August 14-22.Participating REBNY member firms and buildings include:

  • The Durst Organization, who lit One World Trade Center, One Bryant Park and One Five One.

  • The Howard Hughes Corporation, who lit Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport.       

  • RXR Realty, who lit the Helmsley Building.     

  • SL Green Realty, who lit One Vanderbilt.   

  • Vornado Realty Trust, who lit 731 Lexington and 1 Penn Plaza.

“New York City was hard-hit by the COVID pandemic, and this celebration is a reminder of the resiliency and strength of the City and all New Yorkers,” said REBNY President James Whelan. “The real estate industry and New York City are intrinsically linked and we remain the City’s key partner and chief advocate as we all work towards a full recovery. We’re proud to see members participate in this celebration as a symbol of our commitment to our great City and its greatest comeback.”

NYC Homecoming Week, hosted by the City of New York, was a weeklong celebration of the City’s culture, communities, businesses and people as New York embarks on its comeback from the COVID-19 crisis. Iconic New York City buildings lit up in the City’s colors – blue, white and orange – throughout the week, while events drove support for the small businesses and local organizations that kept the City running throughout the pandemic, according to the event website.
